Anny Ibarra

Biography

 
 Anny Ibarra is a talented and versatile actress whose training began in theatre.  She started performing in satiric/comedic plays when she was 15, and later studied with Raph Kinnard at The Studio located in the Artist House she continued her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles, CA.

Anny was involved in several bilingual theatre productions while also writing for several print publications local newspapers and national magazines. Among those publications she published several books, "how to be a successful immigrant and not failing trying", "como ser un migrante exitoso y no fallar en el intento", "getting to know a guitar", "Little Joel goes to hollywood" and "Miel y la Banda."


She can be seen in short films and feature films such as the independent features Coyote Funeral, Middle of Nowhere, starring Susan Sarandon. The actress portrayed a young maid named Elena she worked along with the talented actor Anton Yelching, under the direction of John Stockwell. Also, The Last Girl Standing, a horror thriller where she plays Lucia.


On the television side, she landed a job as a reporter for KAKW/Univision 62 for the entertainment show Despierta Austin as a food reporter. She also contributed as a sports reporter for the show Accion Deportiva and  Univision News 62. Along with her credits in Tv and film she has credits for voiceover work and produced the Spanish speaking podcast Oye Ya Sabes USA that aired on Spotify. 


Anny became involved in the music scene promoting live music events. She produced live events in the music capital of the world promoting Latino music; among those are the Salsa Festival, Cumbia festival "Cumbiathon", Rumba Decembrina, El Gaitazo, Hola events and others.  She constantly contributed to the Latino culture with the goal to unify the community for which she was awarded a recognition for her work from El Mundo Newspaper.


On the music side she's collaborated in the production of several concerts in north Texas for FWPL, including the Spring Concert Series 2023. Her participation in music production brought her to start learning percussion instruments performing with the MBK band. 


If that is not enough her versatility goes a long way, she's an actress, a writer, a producer, musician and visual artist. Her art and some of her work has been sold in south America with techniques in acrylic, oil, ink, chalk, and other techniques. Her art features animals, portraits and landscapes. She also has been recognized for her skills as a cartoonist winning awards from the TIPA, Texas Intercollegiate Press Association as well the Texas Broadcast Association, and Town press.
